Thursday, October 9th: Canaan James

So many things come into mind, when I think about what music has done in my life.  The first musical recording I ever received from my mom, was  Bobby Brown tape! I wore that thing out, and whenever I got into trouble, I’d say, “don’t be cruel” mom! She’d say, “why did you do that”!??  I’d say, its “my perogative”. I thought it was hilarious. She didn’t think it was so funny. I grew up listening to Foreigner, Europe, Def Leppard, then on the opposite side of the spectrum, Johnny Cash, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, Engelbert Humperdink, and all those influences came from my grandfather.

Thursday, October 16th: Russ Thompson

Russ Thompson just finished recording his very fist independent studio album. His combination of Folk, Rock, Americana has been entertaining folks in the Piedmont for years. With the March 1st release of his album “The Long Lost Toubadour” he will be presenting 10 brand new songs marking his personal accounts of life, philosophy, and storytelling.

Thursday, October 30th: Spaceship Days

Slick, catchy, and slightly left of center Alternative rock— with a pop music sheen.  Forming in 2009, this altpop band took their name from a lyric in a Catherine Wheel song.  After releasing a pair of albums independently ( “The Halo Effect” 2009; “Black Holes & Butterflies 2010”) to wide acclaim, the founding members of the band : Greg Torsone – guitars/production; Chuck Cox – bass, joined forces with a new vocalist, American Idol/America’s Got Talent Finalist Adam Lee Decker, and released “The Thrill of Freefall” in March 2013.   The first single from the EP “December” is featured in the Every New Day pictures film “Secrets in the Fall.”  Dave Kress joined the band on drums soon after and the quartet went back to work with a string of successful shows. Currently, Spaceship Days is in the studio working on an EP due out in the Spring of 2014.  Armed with the fusion of chemistry, mature songwriting, crisp production, and a spectacular live show Spaceship Days is a band for any music lover.
