Jason Giglio, General Manager
Jason was born in Bessemer, Alabama but grew up in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from Needham B. Broughton High School in Raleigh and after attending a year at East Carolina University in Greenville, Jason joined the United States Air Force. Jason was stationed at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, Florida. During his time in Florida he discovered sushi and fell in love with the tradition, skill, and art that is involved in preparing sushi. After his time in the military, he started his career as a Sales Rep and Transportation Manager with US Foods in Tennessee. He enjoyed his job but didn’t really find his calling until his first restaurant management position at a local Tennessee chain, Calhoun’s. Jason thrived in this arena and was rapidly promoted from Prep Cook to Manager to Assistant General Manager in only a year and a half. During this time in Knoxville, a new tiny sushi bar opened up downtown, Nama Sushi Bar. As a regular customer for about 6 months, the owner saw his passion for sushi and was in need of a new restaurant manager and offered him a position. He was promoted to General Manager a year and a half later he was managing the second, new location. In addition to management, Jason has experience rolling sushi. In 2012, Jason accepted a position in St. John, USVI as an assistant sushi cook opening a two man outdoor sushi bar at a resort. He has a strong passion for exceptional service and premium food quality.
Jason Clifford, Bar Manager
Jason was born in New York City in 1982 and credits his father, who spent most of Jason’s childhood years in the restaurant, for his vast knowledge in the food and beverage industry. When Jason was 9 years old, he and his family relocated to Raleigh to start a new life and by 16 he was ready for his first job. Jason landed a server position at the local retirement home and then quickly moved to the kitchen as a line cook, to learn more. Though Jason says he learned a lot in the kitchen, he’ll also tell you that his home is really in the front of the house. So, in 2006 we hired Jason as a server. Just a couple of years later he decided to move to Portland, Oregon and left us behind. Not to be forgotten, Jason walked back into our doors in 2013 and is now here to stay.
You’ll find him behind the bar most evenings but in his spare time you’ll likely either find him in the gym, checking out one of the latest blockbusters, or catching a concert at one of Raleigh’s many live music venues.
Kyle Nizborski, Manager
Kyle was born in Clearwater, Florida and grew up in Odessa, Florida. He has been working in restaurants since he was 16, starting at Steak N’ Shake and then moved to finer dining in Boca Raton, Florida. He studied graphic design for 2 years at the Art Institute of Tampa, but decided that wasn’t for him. He then moved to North Carolina in 2010 to pursue a career in the electrical/ IT field. He decided to change direction and go back to what he knows best- hospitality. He has now found a new home with our Eschelon family.
Kyle has a family who resides in Florida still, for the most part. His younger sister lives in Morrisville, NC and he also has 1 younger sister, 2 step-sisters and a half brother with a 20 year gap. Talk about a spread! His hobbies include staying active, competitive sports( played soccer for 15 years), playing disc golf and wakeboarding. He thoroughly enjoy video games as well, but only when the weather doesn’t permit being outside. Some other activities Kyle enjoys include drinking craft beer and a new love for whiskey.
