Jason Giglio, General Manager
Jason was born in Bessemer, Alabama but grew up in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from Needham B. Broughton High School in Raleigh and after attending a year at East Carolina University in Greenville, Jason joined the United States Air Force. Jason was stationed at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, Florida. During his time in Florida he discovered sushi and fell in love with the tradition, skill, and art that is involved in preparing sushi. After his time in the military, he started his career as a Sales Rep and Transportation Manager with US Foods in Tennessee. He enjoyed his job but didn’t really find his calling until his first restaurant management position at a local Tennessee chain, Calhoun’s. Jason thrived in this arena and was rapidly promoted from Prep Cook to Manager to Assistant General Manager in only a year and a half. During this time in Knoxville, a new tiny sushi bar opened up downtown, Nama Sushi Bar. As a regular customer for about 6 months, the owner saw his passion for sushi and was in need of a new restaurant manager and offered him a position. He was promoted to General Manager a year and a half later he was managing the second, new location. In addition to management, Jason has experience rolling sushi. In 2012, Jason accepted a position in St. John, USVI as an assistant sushi cook opening a two man outdoor sushi bar at a resort. He has a strong passion for exceptional service and premium food quality.
